What is an Open Home?

An Open home is a long standing tradition in the sale of property to expose more people to a home for sale. Open Homes are normally held on weekends to capture more traffic as most people are off work. 

The real estate agent will put open home signs outside the property and near street corners to draw in drive-by traffic, the open home times will usually be advertised in the local paper.

Benefits of Open Houses

An open home provides an opportunity to attract interested buyers to the property. A well-executed open home can generate excitement about the home and potentially lead to an offer. 

Many real estate agents advise their clients to hold an open home the first weekend after the property goes up for sale.
